Who runs this research

This research is run by ConsultBlue Limited, which trades as Summ, together with a recruitment partner. Both organisations are named in the contact details below.

Why we are collecting this

This is research into how health in midlife affects women at work. Some of the questions ask about perimenopause and menopause.

It sets out to answer three things. What women in midlife are dealing with. How much of it they recognise in themselves. And what support would help them stay in their jobs, enjoy their work, and progress in their careers.

The findings will be published as research about midlife health in the workplace.

What we collect

Your answers to thirteen multiple choice questions. Some of these ask about your health, which is a special category of personal data under UK data protection law.

The date and time you submitted, and how long the questions took you.

A randomly generated identifier for your submission, created by our server. It is not derived from anything about you and cannot be traced back to you.

What we do not collect with your answers

We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, employer, or job title as part of the research.

We do not record your IP address or any information about your device or browser.

The link is the same for everyone. There is nothing in it that identifies you or records who invited you.

There are no analytics or tracking scripts on these pages.

If you volunteer for an interview

After you have answered the questions we ask whether you would like to take part in a one to one interview. This is optional and you can ignore it.

If you do give us a name and an email address, they are stored in a separate place from your answers, with nothing linking the two. We cannot tell which set of answers belongs to you, and neither can anyone else with access to the data.

We use those details only to contact you about an interview. They are not added to a marketing list and they are not shared with the recruitment partner or with any employer.

Unlike your answers, these details are identifiable, so you can ask to see, correct or delete them at any time.

Our legal basis

For personal data, UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a), consent.

For health data, UK GDPR Article 9(2)(a), explicit consent. This is the tick box you complete before starting.

Volunteering for an interview is a separate consent with its own tick box, and agreeing to one does not agree you to the other.

Who sees your answers

Answers are shared with the recruitment partner as an aggregated summary, meaning counts and percentages rather than individual responses.

Your answers are never shared with your employer.

Only aggregated counts and percentages are shared with the recruitment partner named above. Individual responses are not.

How long we keep it

Your contact details for an interview, if you gave them, are kept separately and deleted sooner. See the line below.

We keep your answers for 24 months from the date you submit them, then delete them.

We delete your contact details once the interviews are finished, and in any case within 12 months of you giving them to us.

Automated decisions and transfers

Your answers are not used for automated decision making or profiling.

Your answers are stored on servers in Western Europe, and the servers that receive them are in London. Our suppliers, Cloudflare and Vercel, run global networks, so a request may pass through equipment outside the UK on its way to us. Both are covered by the safeguards UK data protection law requires for that.

Your rights

• You have the right to withdraw your consent at any point before you submit your answers. Close the page and nothing is saved.
• Because the research collects nothing that identifies you, we cannot find, correct, or delete an individual response after it has been submitted. This also means we cannot confirm whether any particular response is yours.
• If you gave us your contact details for an interview, that is different. Those details are identifiable, and you can ask us to see, correct or delete them at any time.
• If you have a question about how this research is run, contact us using the details above.
• You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
